About Me

Clare Marsh,
Consultant Gynaecologist

I am a consultant gynaecologist with a focus on benign (non-cancerous) gynaecological problems. I have been a consultant for over 6 years with my NHS practice at The Royal Berkshire Hospital.

I completed my specialty training in Birmingham and the West Midlands before moving to Berkshire to take up my consultant post. I can offer a wide range of minor procedures in the outpatient setting as well as inpatient surgery, including open surgery, major and minor laparoscopic (keyhole) and hysteroscopic surgery (using a camera through the cervix).I pride myself on providing honest, personalised care as well as trying to find environmentally friendly options wherever possible.

Over the last 2 years I have been leading on improving the gynaecology service to our paediatric and adolescent patients at Royal Berkshire, and can provide gynaecological care to under 16s in my private practice as well.

In addition to my clinical work I am the risk lead for gynaecology, striving to improve patient safety at Royal Berkshire.  I also lead on laparoscopic and hysteroscopic simulation training for junior doctors, as part of a team of consultants working across the Thames Valley Deanery.

I live with my husband and two daughters and we all thoroughly enjoy cooking and eating good food, exploring nature (whether by foot, bicycle, kayak or skis!) and reading good books.
